Black soldiers win compensation from Ministry of Defence after suffering cold injuries ‘because bosses took no account of their skin colour’

Abdoulie Bojang, 30, suing MoD for £200,000 for non-freezing cold injury3343518000000578-3544150-Abdoulie_Bojang_30_was_training_in_Banff_Canada_is_seeking_200_0-a-6_1460881046688

Ex-soldier claims his hands were injured in ski training exercise in Canada. Bojang, who served in Royal Logistic Corps, lodged claim with High Court

Claims army ‘failed to take into account his ethnicity’ during training. At least 450 Commonwealth soldiers suffered cold injuries in past decade

We had people suffer cold injuries in the Falklands war and they were more in danger of being charged for neglect than getting compensation. As Artic Warfare trained soldier, you learn how to look after yourself in extreme conditions so you are fit enough to fight. If we start going down this road of selection based on skin colour then it would make black soldiers unable to be deployed in certain theatres of war. This is a disaster for the military and common sense.
