I had the pleasure and honour of serving with Edward Denmark on Rapier surface to air missiles in the Falklands War where T Battery shot down 14 enemy aircraft. Gunner Denmark was one of the fittest and most professional soldiers in the Regiment and once again put himself in the firing line when he volunteered for service in Northern Ireland. Edwards book is a very authentic account of life as a Gunner in the Royal Artillery, well written with humility, no chest pounding bravado, just how it is, straight to the point, humorous and serious in equal portions. As a former soldier that has been in the same combat situations around the world I could do no better than looking around and seeing Scouse Denmark watching my back and I highly recommend Not For Queen & Country.

Thanks Mack it is well known in the Regiment that you were an exceptionally fit and professional soldier. Having downed two Argentine jet fighters during the Falklands war who can argue?
